Antalya City Tour: Exploring Tunektepe Cable Car, Kaleici, and Duden Waterfalls
Experience the Enchanting Beauty of Antalya
Antalya, the beautiful coastal city located in southern Turkey, is known for its stunning landscapes, rich history, and vibrant culture. The city is a dream destination for nature lovers and history buffs alike, offering a myriad of attractions that showcase its unique charm. One of the best ways to discover the hidden gems of Antalya is through a comprehensive city tour. In this article, we will take you on a journey to explore three iconic attractions in Antalya: Tunektepe cable car, Kaleici, and Duden Waterfalls.
Tunektepe Cable Car: Witness Antalya from Above
Begin your Antalya city tour by soaring high above the cityscape on the Tunektepe cable car. Offering breathtaking panoramic views, this cable car ride takes you to the summit of Tunektepe Hill, standing 618 meters above sea level. As you ascend, you'll be treated to awe-inspiring vistas of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, the sprawling city, and the majestic Taurus Mountains.
Once you reach the top, take a moment to capture the mesmerizing scenery and relish in the beauty that surrounds you. Whether you visit during the day or at sunset, the view from Tunektepe is sure to leave you in awe. It's a truly unforgettable experience that allows you to appreciate the natural wonders of Antalya in all their glory.
Kaleici: Dive into Antalya's Historic Heart
After descending from Tunektepe, the next stop on your Antalya city tour is Kaleici. Nestled within the ancient city walls, Kaleici is the historic heart of Antalya and a true treasure trove of culture and history. As you wander through its narrow, winding streets, you'll be transported back in time to the days of the Ottoman Empire.
Explore the picturesque marina, lined with charming yachts and fishing boats, and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the local markets. Discover hidden courtyards, traditional Turkish houses, and ancient landmarks that bear witness to the city's rich heritage. From the iconic Hadrian's Gate to the mesmerizing Yivli Minaret, Kaleici promises a captivating journey through time.
Duden Waterfalls: Discover Nature's Majesty
No visit to Antalya would be complete without experiencing the breathtaking beauty of Duden Waterfalls. Divided into upper and lower cascades, these magnificent waterfalls are an oasis of tranquility amidst the bustling city. Feel the refreshing mist on your face as you stroll along the scenic paths that wind through lush greenery and cascading waters.
The upper Duden Waterfall, situated upstream, offers a more secluded and peaceful setting. Here, you can bask in the serenity of nature, surrounded by towering cliffs and the gentle rush of water. The lower Duden Waterfall, on the other hand, is a magnificent sight to behold as the water cascades into the Mediterranean Sea, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.
Conclusion: Unforgettable Memories Await in Antalya
Embarking on an Antalya city tour that includes Tunektepe cable car, Kaleici, and Duden Waterfalls is an experience that will create lasting memories. From the awe-inspiring heights of Tunektepe to the timeless charm of Kaleici and the natural splendor of Duden Waterfalls, each attraction offers a unique glimpse into the enchanting beauty of Antalya.

“Great trip, lots to see and experience, the tour guide Ahmed was quite a nice and a very knowledgeab”

Overall experience for a one day trip is Great! I was with my parents and we did enjoy the trip starting from the cable car with a nice view on the Antalya city, the sea from a terrace atop the mountain. Then we went to see the waterfalls, quite an interesting place to visit. The lunch at Shawarma place was OK, I wish it was a more upscale restaurant. Then we had almost 2 hours for discovering the city of Antalya. Bought some souvenirs, walked in the streets. The last milestone of the trip was one hour ride on the boat on the sea. It was fun. Then we hopped on our bus and the drivers ensured that every one of us got safely back to our hotels.
One improvement that I would like to suggest: Please ask the drivers (who pick up the participants of the trip from their respective hotels) to present themselves and say explicitly that they are from VIGO TOURS company or just ask them to hold piece of paper with the names and surnames of the guests). In my case, the driver was just standing next to the main entrance of the hotel and did not present himself at all. All he asked was: "Are you travelling to Antalya? What is your room number?". I found it a bit suspicious that a stranger early in the morning would ask me these questions without properly presenting himself and saying that he represents the Vigo Tours company.

A nice day began by collecting from hotel door, visiting a nature reserve with impressive waterfalls. Ride by cable car to the top of the mountain with stunning views. A reasonable lunch, a cruise in the Gulf of Antalya, an independent tour in the old city center. All in all, we had an enjoyable day, with varied activities and a reasonable price.

Terrible experience. This tour is cheap for a reason. You don't get looked after by the guide. The tour guide ignores you and lets you and your family of small children get ignored at a restaurant because he is too busy taking selfies with other guests. Poor host, poor company, poor experience. No apologies when you complain. The restaurant that you get taken to as part of the tour serves nasty food... once you've waited an hour and complained about being ignored by the waiters. Horrible experience. Ruined our experience of Turkey.

Was supposed to be visit to waterfall and 2 hour boat trip. What we actually got was 30 minutes at the waterfall and only 50mins on boat trip. They also took us to a place I think was called leather world warehouse (or something similar) which was in the middle of nowhere so you couldnt leave even if you wanted to whilst there we were constantly harrased by sales people trying to sell their products that they stocked at the warehouse. Also the lack of air conditioning on the tour bus was horrific. Lunch was nice but wasn't informed that lunch for my 6 year old wasn't included in the price.

I could not continue the trip so I took a taxi and retain back to the hotel with my family. 4 people on the same trip do the same and lift the trip so 9 people out of the 11 people on they trip they lift

Had a great time, nearly slipped at the waterfall location, i would recommend wearing wellies if you have them if not shoe's that you can walk comfortably in and that you wouldn't mind getting ruined, so glad I wore trainers. By the time we got to the leather factory I was ready to go back to my hotel and Ali kindly drooped me back when everyone else was at the final waterfall. He's a really nice man so if you get Ali I don't think he's paid well so please tip him

The had a nice time during the Antalya boat and city trip. The trip is well organized and seperated into a few parts. After the transport to the starting point of the boat trip, we traveled to the nice waterfall by boat. Here you got a lot of chances to make some nice pictures with great views. The boat trip is followed by a lunch in a small restaurant. The food there is ok, but the highlight is the great view on the Akdeniz.
After your lunch, you got some free time, to visit the Old City of Antalya, or to go shopping.
Last point of the Trip is the visit of the National Park in Antalya. You will love the waterfalls.
The trip is guided very well by the Guide.

They then take u to eat food, food was really nice especially veg option.
Then shopping at the bazaar was nice about 1.5 hour looking and buying souvenirs.
The tour guides then let you pay a small amount to see the duden waterfalls which takes 15-20 mins to get to, the waterfall was very nice along the way to the exit you can pick up more souvenirs and icecream to finish the day.

“A lovely day spoiled by inconsiderate parents...”
Reviewed by Adrian W******* Beccles United Kingdom 21-03-2016
We took this trip off-season expecting some differences to the advertised programme to accommodate the weather and current security awareness in Turkey. The trip itself was wonderful as was our guide, but other guests spoiled the day.
The boat trip to see a waterfall has to be aborted 0.5 miles from the destination due to hysterical screaming from the children on-board because the water was a little choppy. This was an adult orientated sightseeing tour, not one of the MANY "Pirates of the Caribbean" themed leisure rides available that obviously cater to the younger market.
The selfishness continued after lunch with several parents trying to take children in pushchairs into the caves and behind the waterfall. To cap it all off, because their children were tired, the parents bullied the guide into aborting the rest of the afternoon to take them back to their hotels, which resulted in us being dropped off in the middle of nowhere and them paying for a taxi to our hotel.
